REALIGNMENT FOR 2006 COMING
Reclassification and realignment information for 2006-08 will be
released on Thursday, February 2, 2006, at 9am at respective
Regional Education Service Centers.
The information will be distributed to school superintendents. On
February 2-13, any school wishing to change districts may do so by
contacting the district to which
they have been assigned and the district to which they wish to change to
ask for a vote. Football schools may play their first game no earlier than August 31, 2006.
Beginning practice dates will remain the same
for all conferences. Schools continue to be limited to no more than ten
regular season games.

WEEK NINE SCORES (3-5A WEEK 4)
With only one week left in the regular season,
the inter-city games provided excitement in two of the three cities.
Big to the playoff picture, the game that had the most impact was in
Midland. The Bulldogs staged an exhibition of proper second half
adjustments in the 28-20 defeat of Midland Lee. The Bronchos
claimed Odessa's bragging rights by handing Permian a 14-12 loss, and the Abilene Eagles
had no problem blanking the Cooper Cougars in a 40-0 runaway.

WEEK EIGHT SCORES (3-5A WEEK 3)
Week Three is in the books and the playoff
picture is starting to take shape for area teams. The Abilene Eagles
defeated Permian and is the only unbeaten team in eight outings.
They will likely take the top spot. Midland High had no problem with
Cooper and look to be a possible for second place. The Lee
Rebels knocked off Odessa High and are hopeful for the third spot.

WEEK SEVEN SCORES (3-5A WEEK 2)
After the second week of the district slate, the
focus falls on the number three spot for a playoff berth. The most
convincing win came from Abilene, where the Bronchos destroyed the Cougars
42-14. The spotlight game between Abilene and Midland ended with the
Eagles taking a 31-20 victory. The Panthers offense continues to
struggle, this time at the hands of the Rebels, in the 16-6 loss in Ratliff
Stadium.

WEEK SIX SCORES (3-5A WEEK 1)
The "Battle of the Unbeatens" was hosted in
Shotwell Stadium as the Odessa High Bronchos traveled to Abilene High.
The Eagles put the game away in the second half. The Permian Panthers
hosted a Midland High blowout in Ratliff Stadium. Bulldog RB
Baron Batch had three touchdowns in the game. The Abilene Cooper Cougars stepped into Rebel territory
and fell prey to Midland Lee.

WEEK FIVE SUMMARY
While the rest of the district teams had a bye
week, it came down to the second overtime before Clovis East claimed the 38-37
victory in Grande on Friday night. Trent Hines scored first for the
Rebels on a 5-yd run and Lee added a field goal to take a 10-0 lead.
The Timberwolves answered back on a 80-yd run to end the first quarter.
Clovis East added ten unanswered points in the second to take a 17-10 score
into the locker room. Hines scored twice in the third and the Rebels
were back on top, 24-17. Regulation would end tied at 31-31.
Neither team scored in the first overtime, but Hines did from two yards out
in the second overtime. The Lee extra point kick failed, which left
opportunity for Clovis East to score from three yards out and kick their
extra point for the win.

WEEK FOUR SUMMARY
Abilene High made Texas Stadium home in their
33-14 win over Rockhurst, MO.
Odessa High, the other district unbeaten, controlled the Central Bobcats
14-3.
Cooper took a 31-21 road win over Lubbock Coronado, while Midland High
dismantled Amarillo 35-6. The Permian Panthers rebounded from a loss
the previous week and defensively manipulated
Lubbock Monterey 23-0. All district teams - with the exception of
Lee - will have a bye this coming week.

WEEK THREE SUMMARY
There are only Abilene High
and Odessa High with 4-0 records. The Eagles squeaked by Belton
(24-17) and the Bronchos cruised past Lubbock Coronado (39-26). Cooper
picked up a win over the Central Bobcats, 30-17. Midland High was
upset by Monterey (28-24) and Permian was embarrassed by Amarillo (21-7).
Lee picked up their first win at home over Port Arthur Memorial (32-7).

WEEK TWO SUMMARY
Week Two went as expected, with the exception of
Lee's performance in Dallas. The Rebels dropped their third road
game, this time to Dallas Kimball (20-14). Midland High is still on track to
repeat their 2002 state final trek, after a 41-21 biting of the San Angelo
Bobcats. Both Odessa schools picked up wins. OHS beat Las Cruces (37-21), while Permian
got past El Paso Montwood
(31-20). Abilene High struggled past
Brownwood (17-15), and Cooper disposed of Del Rio (28-6).

Another year of high school football has begun
with Week Zero. Midland pounded Lubbock
Coronado (42-13), Permian defeated Lubbock High
(38-14),
Odessa High won (28-21) over Big Spring, and Cooper lost to Mansfield Summit
(31-14).
Lee lost to Southlake
Carroll (48-25) in the Saturday afternoon's televised game, while Abilene
High coasted to a 37-14 victory over Lubbock Monterey on Saturday night.

ALL-DISTRICT TEAM ANNOUNCED
All-District List
Abilene placed 21 players, including 15 on the first team (six more
on the second team). Lee added 15 (10 plus 5), Midland 13 (8 plus
5), Cooper 10 (2 plus 8) and Odessa High 5 (2 plus 3). Permian
contributed six to the second team.
