MIDLAND,
TX --
Arlington High quarterback Joe Jon Finley ran wild in Midland Lee's
new stadium, running for three touchdowns, throwing for another and
racking up nearly 300 yards in total offense during the Colts' 37-7
victory over the Rebels.
From the moment Finley hit Brad Ekwerekwu for 54 yards and the game's
first score, it became evident he was the best player on the stadium's
Astroplay turf. For those who needed more convincing, Finley added
touchdown runs of 52, 82 and 9 yards. On the night, the
Arlington High team accumulated 394 yards of total offense. The
Rebels totaled 273 yards. On the ground, Lee rushed the ball 40 times
for 176 yards. Quarterback Cameron Phillips was 10 of 23 for 97
yards. He also threw three interceptions.
