ODESSA PERMIAN AT AMARILLO
GAME SUMMARY & STATS
Questions were answered in Amarillo's Dick Bivins Stadium as the Panthers rolled out a 56-7 shellacking of the Sandies.  After knocking Euless Trinity the week previous, would the Panthers have a flat game?  Quarterback Taylor Byrd and wide receiver Melvis Pride provided that answer early.  The two hooked for touchdown passes of 54-yards and 30-yards.  Permian buffered a 49-7 lead by halftime and for all practical purposes the game was over.

Picking off passes from Sandie quarterback Landon Brown, the Mojo defense led by Anthony McDowell, Eugene Neboh and Alex Lujan enjoyed taking the ball away from Amarillo three times by air.  The Sandies also coughed the ball up twice.  Byrd set a new school single-game passing yardage record, throwing for 328 yards and four touchdowns - plus scoring two rushing TDs.  The Permian defense limited the Sandies to 171 total yards and eight first downs.  Mojo remains undefeated and will close out the non-district slate against Lubbock Monterey on Homecoming Night.

MIDLAND LEE AT LUBBOCK HIGH
GAME SUMMARY & STATS
It looked as if it could be a competitive game as the two teams exchanged punts on their first two possessions.  Midway through the first quarter it became evident the Rebels would upstage the Westerners in the 63-0 demolition at Lowrey Field.

Lee's Jason Nash made a 21-yard scramble for a touchdown and 7-0 lead. On their next possession, Corey Petro scored from a yard out to give the Rebels a 14-0 lead.  Amiuel Carr scored on runs of 2 and 39 yards in the second quarter and led the Rebels with 90 yards on 11 carries. Jarven Roberson ran for 67 yards and a touchdown on 10 carries.  Lee improves their record to 2-2.

ABILENE HIGH AT TYLER LEE
Abilene's
Hunter Cooke scooped up a loose fumble and returned it 33 yards to help the Eagles defeat Tyler Lee 21-6 at Texas Stadium.  Cooke's touchdown was set up when P.J. Butler and Chris Williams drilled Luke Wagner, forcing the Red Raider quarterback to fumble.

Lee unleashed a strong running attack behind Jamal Mitchell and Da Da Brown, who combined for 189 yards. The Raiders drew first blood, taking the opening kickoff 61 yards and scoring when Joseph Cleaver booted a 36-yard field goal.  AHS scored on its second possession. Quarterback Spens Lackey darted in from the 3, capping a 12-play, 72-yard drive.  The Eagles clung to a 7-3 lead at the half.

In the second half, the Eagle defense prevented the Raiders from getting into the end zone and had them settling with a single field goal.  Meanwhile, Abilene score two more times to claim the victory.

LUBBOCK CORONADO AT ODESSA HIGH
Scoring 16 points off three OHS turnovers, Lubbock Coronado held on for a 33-20 victory in Ratliff Stadium. Mustang quarterback Aaron Zouzalik rushed for 112 yards and one touchdown and then completed 19 of 40 passes for 210 yards and three touchdowns.

Turnovers hurt the Bronchos in the first quarter as the Mustangs scored the first nine points of the game off miscues. The first came on the first play from scrimmage for OHS.  Odessa High saw its next drive end in the same fashion, this time after Derrick Teegarden had moved the team from the OHS 25-yard line to midfield in four plays. On 2nd-and-7 from the 50, Teegarden's pass was picked off by Aaron Cude.

Teegarden carried the ball nine times for 107 yards and one touchdown, including an 81-yard scamper in the fourth quarter. Teegarden was 15-of-29 for 183 yards and one touchdown, with two interceptions. David Camacho was 6-of-10 for 53 yards and one touchdown pass.  Running back J.J. Hill added 98 yards on 13 carries.

SAN ANGELO CENTRAL AT ABILENE COOPER
Before its final drive, Central had only one play from scrimmage in Cooper's half of the field. With a game marred with turnovers, the Cougars escaped with a 10-0 decision over the Bobcats.

On the only scoring drive of the first half, Will Casey was 4-for-4 on pass plays for 32 yards. The Cougars took almost seven minutes off the clock by driving 76 yards in 16 plays to take their 7-0 lead.  After throwing 17 times in the first half, the Cougars decided to feature running back A'mon Pimpton in the second half.  Pimpton finished with 134 yards on 30 carries.  Isaac Escobedo's 22-yard field goal with 2:28 to play gave Cooper their final points for the game.  Casey passed for 135 yards to help Cooper to its big advantage in total yards of 293-79.

MIDLAND HIGH AT LUBBOCK MONTEREY
It was Chase Plourd's first start for the Bulldogs.  Here he was leading his team 80 yards in six plays on a final scoring drive.  Plourd connected a 20-yard TD pass to sophomore Trevor Skurlark with 56 seconds remaining to clinch the 24-20 victory. He completed 11-of-22 passes and threw for 248 yards and a pair of touchdowns to Skurlark, who had five catches for 109 yards.
