Built in 1982, Odessa's Ratliff Stadium was to replace W.T. Barrett Stadium, with a $5.6 million price tag.  Located in North Odessa, the 19,300 seat  stadium can handle 19,500 fans for playoffs, sell-out and 'high profile' games by offering standing-room-only tickets for the north end-zone, bringing total seating to 9,650 per side.  Ratliff has been host to several events including:  season and playoff football games, West Texas Relays track meet, soccer, and marching band contests.

The school district is in current renovation to remove a turf (C) that has resided atop a layer of polyurethane rubber-like padding (B) above the concrete foundation (A).  High dollar turf in its day, the field surface will make way to a newer, safer surface come late September 2003.

In October 2001, USA Today picked Ratliff Stadium as one of the top 10 High School Football Stadiums in the United States.  The facility offers 4,700+ parking spaces, handicap seating, an 8-lane metric track, a two-level press box, nice locker rooms, and concession stands.
